W.C. Stewart's Fly Box

This is a special selection of the famous Spiders from W.C. Stewart's The Practical Angler.  Totaling three dozen flies contained in this box are six each of; Black Spider sz.14 and sz.16, Dun Spider sz.14 and sz.16, and Red Spider sz.14 and sz.16.  Created originally by Stewart's guide James Baillie, Stewart says of these patterns,"Killing spiders may be made of all the feathers we have mentioned, but the three following are all we consider necessary." W.C. Stewart, The Practical Angler, 1857
